Alzheimer's and Dementia Care

If you have a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s, you understand the challenges of normal daily activities. Symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease may be further complicated by injuries, illness or end-of-life needs. Through our Enhanced Alzheimer’s Care*, our teams help each person maximize his or her quality of life.

Clinical Excellence

The caregivers in our Alzheimer's Care Units are specifically trained to understand the unique skills required to care for Alzheimer’s patients, including those who may have sustained an injury or undergone surgery. Our nurses and therapists are trained to understand patient ability levels and communication techniques. Plus, specially developed physical therapy programs are delivered on an inpatient basis as part of our Enhanced Alzheimer’s Care.

Therapeutic Innovation

We provide a nurturing and therapeutic environment where those with dementia or Alzheimer’s can receive the clinical and rehabilitation care they need in a safe and secure setting. The overall environment – from the décor to the meals to the quiet atmosphere – is intended to help create a soothing, homelike setting.

We use the latest Alzheimer’s and dementia research to create care plans. We also implement quality of life therapies such as healing touch, music therapy and aromatherapy.

Smooth Transitions

Moving from home to another location can be difficult and confusing for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Our Partners in Transition program helps people move between care settings more easily with personalized guidance, planning and attention. Your loved one will be more likely to quickly adjust to new surroundings.

Paying for Care

Many financial resources may be available to cover the cost of care for someone with Alzheimer's disease or dementia. Depending on circumstances, Medicare may cover some of the cost of care. Medicaid or private insurance may also cover the cost of care. Read more about these different programs here.
