Celebrating Our 10 Longest Tenured Employees

As part of Golden Living’s celebration of 50 Years of Service, the company pays tribute to the 10 longest tenured employees who each have more than 45 years of service providing care to patients, residents and their families.
 
The 10 longest tenured Golden Living employees include the following individuals:
 
June Thielker – Hired April 11, 1965; Nurse Charge LPN - Golden LivingCenter - Wedgemere, Taunton, Mass.
 
Florence Like – Hired August 28, 1965; Certified Nurse Assistant - Golden LivingCenter - Northcrest, Napoleon, Ohio
 
Elaine Storms – Hired October 1, 1966; Coordinator of Health Information - Golden LivingCenter - O’Neill, O’Neill, Neb.
 
Leona Ragan – Hired February 13, 1967; Certified Nurse Assistant - Golden LivingCenter – Slayton, Slayton, Minn.
 
Margaret Mincey – Hired October 17, 1967; Certified Nurse Assistant - Golden LivingCenter - Chateau, Minneapolis, Minn.

National Nurses Week is held every year beginning on May 6, with National RN Recognition Day and ending on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who founded nursing as a modern profession. Growing from 11,892 nurses in 1900 to more than 3.4 million, they deserve special recognition for their dedication during this Nurses Week.

 

We share many holidays and life celebrations with our LivingCenter residents, but Valentine's Day is especially sweet for us because we have the joy and privilege of caring for many resident couples. This Valentine’s Day we feature eight GLC couples who share their stories of devotion, happenstance and ageless love.
